The Rose
The Rose as where some buried Caesar bled;
That every Hyacinth the Garden wears
Dropt in its Lap from some once lovely head

The tasks that confront an age and to which people are called, do not arise from daily problems of winning bread, peace, and freedom from oppression. They are implicit in the logical notion of people and in the organic necessities of social growth without which people could not become truly people, that is, free people.
